Review & Swatches: Revlon Ultra HD Lipstick

I picked these up at ULTA for $7.99 each. I did however, have a coupon. Their original price was $9.99. I usually don't make many impulse purchases like this but I decided to take the risk...

Well, after just one day with these I have to say, I'm not impressed. And here's why; the smell. It freaking smells like cats to me. I have no idea why!! I just can't handle it. I smell a hit of something fruity as well but the cat smell to me is overwhelming and really ruins the product for me. Maybe I have a sensitive sense of smell but I can still smell it on my lips even after it's been applied for sometime.

The colors I ended up picking up:
830 - Rose (Pinky-nude)
835 - Primrose (Berry-red)
865 - Magnolia (Beige-pink)
885 - Camilia  (Nude-brown)

Application of the product is smooth, except the color Primerose, which you'll see in the swatch below. For whatever really it was kinda chunky and small pieces broke off in the application process. I don't know if I just got a bad one or if others do this too. Overall, they feel comfortable on the lips. None of the colors seem to be matte but none of them for over-shiny either. More of a stain finish. The color also did not last long as I was expecting for a lipstick. In a couple hours my lips were bare. There is also a slight sweet taste to the lipstick as well, which isn't unpleasant. The design/look of the product resembles a Revlon Lip Butter. The packaging is functional but nothing impressive.

All in all, I would pass on this product if you happen across it in the drugstore. The price tag of $9.99 just isn't wroth it. The regular Revlon lipsticks or the Lip Butters most definitely out preform these.

Also, I don't understand what's "HD" about these...

Have you tired these out? What do you think?
