What can I say, I'm a blush addict. It's a problem and I know it, but I keep feeding the beast. Well, actually, my lovely boyfriend fed the beast. He surprised me one afternoon with a Sephora bag on my desk that contained this beauty. I was completely ecstatic and surprised because when it comes to makeup it's a whole other world to him. For him to take note of something I really wanted and surprise me... my heart melted. ANYWAYS, I'm getting emotional. Let's talk about this palette shall we?
Tarte Pin Up Girl Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Blush Palette - $42
There are 5 wonderful sized blushes in this palette:
- Breathless (pinky beige)
- Embraced (plummy rose)
- Whimsy (light pink)
- Bashful (rosy peach
- Irreplaceable (mauve rose)
All the the blushes are quite pigmented. Just a slight tap into the blush is all you need. Although, for me, the first shade (Breathless) comes off very light of my skin because of my skin tone. It can barely be seen, which is kinda disappointing. All the other shades: Perfection. The packaging could be a hit or a miss depending on how you look at it. It's atheistically pleasing. Just down right gorgeous, I say! I've been keeping it on my vanity for easy reach and because of how lovely it looks (ain't gonna lie). But compared to last years palette, it's not as practical. It's harder to open/close and it's a tad bulky, which makes it hard to store. Needless to say, I love the Pin Up palette but I think I'm a bigger fan of last year's Off the Cuff palette, by a hair.
The palette was paired with an accessory, just like last years palette. This one came with some snazzy bobby pins (last years came with a cuff). At first glance this palette's shade selection looks very similar to last year's holiday blush palette, Off the Cuff . A side by side compassion down below will allow you to see the differences. It might not be enough for the average makeup lover to justify having both but for me, a self diagnosed blush addict, I had to have it! ;)
Thanks for looking/reading~
