Tarte Pure Delights 8-piece LipSurgence Set Review

Follow me on instagram @devonstinson

This is my second Tarte holiday collection that I've purchased this year. I HAVE NO REGRETS! I've always been really intrigued by the LipSurgence's but because of the price tag, I never bought one. Well, this set is amazing because it comes with 8 of them... in mini form! Everything is better when it's mini!

Anyways,  I love this set because its allowing me to try many different shades/finishes I wouldn't have allowed myself to try if I purchased them individually. It's a wonderful price (34$) for the amount of high end products you're getting. This set tends to be very red shade heavy, with some nudes. I am all about the wearable nude/pinks. Not so much the reds. I do enjoy both the textures of the matte and gloss finish. As for any matte shade, I find you need to have extremely smooth and well exfoliated lips or they just show off every imperfection; these come as no exception to that rule. They do have a minty smell/taste, which I enjoy. As far as I know, this set is not Sephora exclusive but it's where I purchased mine.

The shades in this set include:

Matte Shades:
  • glee (watermelon)
  • cheerful (coral)
  • destined (raspberry)
  • generous (pinkish nude)
Gloss Finish:
  • believe (warm pink)
  • grateful (nude)
  • lovely (mauve pink)
  • enamored (cool red)
Aren't those names festive?! Very Christmasy! My swatches/pictures are not grouped as matte vs glossy finishes. They're grouped exactly how they came out of the packaging (pictures below).

Ipsy Glam Bag - October 2013

Follow me on instagram @devonstinson

This is my second Ipsy Glam and I'm still loving it! These are the items I got and my thoughts on them.
  • Buxom - Full-On Lip Polish in Dolly - Honestly, I am not a big lip gloss person. I've never really been. I'm just not happy with look lip gloss gives me. Now, I have been curious about Buxom products. When I tried this out first thing I noticed was now thick and sticky it was. It has a sweet creamy smell and after applying this product it gives this slight tingle to the lips. Kinda like the the tingle you get after brushing your teeth...? And it does linger there for a while. In my opinion, it's a good tingle. All in all, interesting product but not my cup of tea.
  • Zoya -Nail Polish In Giovanna - Lovelovelove nail polish! That is no secret. So I was immensely excited to try about this product (pictures below). It applies very nicely and becomes opaque in 2 coats. There was only one draw back I found from this polish because of how pigmented it is, it's very staining. It didn't stain my nails probably because I used a base coat but it did stain my cuticles in the removal progress. I don't think there's really any way to avoid this but be warned!
  • Nourish Organic - Deeply Nourishing Coconut & Argan Body Lotion - This lotion grew on me. The scent reminds me of Pina Coladas. At first smell it gives this sour/bad scent. It's hard to explain. This was very offsetting for me. After giving it more of a chance, I got used to it. The after smell is wonderful but at first application it's... odd. I don't know how else to describe it. As far as how the product performs, it's moisturizing and not at all greasy. My hands seems to adsorb it quickly. I can see this being wonder for winter.
  • Sexy Hair -Blow Dry Gel - Haven't tried this. I don't really have the urge to. I may gift this to a friend in the future.
  • La Fresh - Eco-Beauty Oil-Free Face Cleanser Wipes - Gave this a try and wasn't too impressed. I didn't like the scent and I felt as thought they dragged and tugged at my skin when I used it. Not for me but I will try to use them up, maybe I'll keep them in my purse.

Tarte Off The Cuff Blush Palette Review

Follow me on instagram @devonstinson

I have 3 words for this palette: matte, pigmented, and long wearing. With the exception of one blush, all the shades are matte, which I am all about! The shade with the shimmer is called dazzled and surprisingly it's the one I've been wearing the most. You barely notice the shimmer, it's wonderful. The second amazing thing about these blushes are the color pay of. What you see in the palette is what you get. You have to ever so slight touch your brush to the blush to get the color you need. It's definitely not a blush you have you swirl your brush in. A little goes a loooooong way. And last but not least, the longevity of the product is absolutely amazing. It does stay on all day for me, especially  when I have used a very nice long wearing foundation.

The shades included are (from left to right):
  • Crave (pink peach)
  • Dazzled (rose with shimmer)
  • Darling (nude melon)
  • Dollface (light pink)
  • and one Amazonian Clay Bronzer in Park Ave Princess

In conclusion, this is a wonderful set to get or to give! The cuff bracelet is a fun touch but not necessary. The set it a wonderful value and can only be purchased at Sephora, from my understanding.

Elf - Disney Villains Nail Polish Set

Follow me on instagram @devonstinson

Lovely lovely lovely set! I hunted around many different Walgreens till I finally found it. I am so excited to try out these lovely colors. The box art and packaging is wonderful and I adore the concept. There are other products/sets that are part of this "Disney Villains" collection, but I didn't purchase them. This is my first time purchasing ELF polish, so I'm not quite sure how the quality is but the value of this set is wonderful. 12 total polishes for 9.99, can't beat that!

That is all! Thanks for looking/reading!~
