ipsy Glam Bag | May 2015

That's it, I've decided. I'm keeping my ipsy subscription. I was super on the fence about this glam bag but after the past 3 bags I've been very impressed. I feel like the items are finally being accurately matched to my personal preferences. The website update is user friendly and functional. The only disappointment is that 660 of my points expired!! I didn't even know they could. The old point system was terrible. Everything cost 1000 points or more. And say you did have the points typically, everything was always sold out. The only way you could get points were from referring a friend or reviewing items. Each review was 10 points (they are now 15 points). Either way, earning points isn't easy. I don't see how/why my expired. Unless when switching the website design, the points expired along with it? I'm not sure. It seems there are many new ways to earn points which makes this subscription more valuable to me. I wish it had a stronger sense of community or an better shopping tool incorporated into the website.

Anyways, my bag this month was super cute! I love the design. Here are my overall reviews of each product:

Urban Decay - 24/7 Glide on Lip Pencil + BONUS Revolution High-Color Lipgloss
I'm not a lip gloss user. This is just personal preference. This product may be great or horrible but I can't honestly say. My review is based on the lip pencil. I feel this would be a better product paired with a lip gloss. My lipsticks don't tend to feather on me and I don't feel it did much for the staying power of my lipsticks. Unfortunately, I didn't find much use for this.

Chella - Eyebrow Color Pencil (Tantalizing Taupe)
I love eye brow products! This was a good color match for me. Wish it had a spoolie on the other end. Honestly, I'll mostly likely use this when my favorite brow pencils run out.

Klorane - Smoothing and Relaxing Patches
Never used a product like this before. The idea of this is lovely but the practicality... not so much. I hear multiple "Beauty Gurus" go on about putting these in the fridge and placing them under their eyes as they're getting ready for the day. I don't got 2 hours to get ready. Heck I barely have 1 hour. Ain't nobody got time for that. This may be is a nice treat maybe once a week during or after a face mask. I don't consider this a staple item in a beauty routine but everyone is different.

Luxie Beauty - Tapered Blending Eye Brush 205
I'm not a huge eyeshadow user but the brush quality is great. I went to the website and found many other affordable brushes. Ipsy gave a 30% off discount code for the website. This was a wonderful introduction to the brand!

CoTZ - Face Natural SPF 40
I love the way the product feel, it reminds me of Benefit's POREfessional. Also, I love the idea of a mattifying sunblock. I'm an oily girl and my skin needs protection too!
