e.l.f Makeup Haul!

Follow me on instagram @devonstinson
I purchased some e.l.f. products online recently. I just wanted to share what I got and give my first impressions. Also, I tried a new background for photos. Not really sure if I'm digging it but I wanted to experiment, so bare please with me! :)

e.l.f. Essential Lipstick - Classy
This is one of the 1 dollar lipsticks in Classy. It's supposed to be a cheap dupe for MAC's Angel. I like the color and the scent of the lipstick. Not too fond of the packaging. It's hard to twist the product up/down and it looks super messy in the tube, almost like I've had it for months.

elf Essential Lipstick - Seductive
Another dollar lipstick. Again I like the scent and the color. This packaging wasn't as messy but I still have the same issue when trying to twist up the product. BUT I can't complain too much for 1 dollar. :)

e.l.f. Mineral Mineral Lipstick - Natural Nymph
This is e.l.f. lipstick is from there more expensive makeup line, this was 5 dollars. Natural Nymph is supposed to be a dude for MAC Creme D'Nude. I don't know what I was thinking when I got this but this looks absolutely TERRIBLE on me. :( :( :( It makes me look sick. My lips look almost ghost like with this on. It does not go well with my skin tone at all. In the swatch below you'll see that it almost matches my skin completely. Other than that... the formula and pigmentation were fine. I'm sure this would work better for someone with a lighter or darker skin tone than me.

e.l.f. Studio Eye Refresh
Close up of e.l.f. Studio Eye Refresh
Eye Refresh is a rollerball product that's supposed to be used under the eye. It claims that is will help with dark circles and puffiness. I can't not really comment on the dark circles (haven't been using it for too long) but as far as puffiness goes, I believe it does help! I've been using this first thing in the morning out of the shower and I've noticed a difference. It's also super cooling, it feels very nice when applying it; especially during the summer. Not sticky or messy at all.

Lip Exfoliator
THIS is AMAZING!! Where have you been all my life?! Seriously. This product is wonderful and it's only 3 dollars! I was using Lush's Lip Scrub but now I've converted (sorry Lush). After getting this one and loving it, I went out and purchased a second one (from Target) just to have in my purse. This is a wonderful Lip Exfoliator. It gently removes dry skin with a sugary scrub. It tastes good (to me), but it does have a weird after taste. It leaves the lips really smooth and moisturized. Prefect to use before any lip product application. It's so convenient and easy to use and not at all messy. I am super impressed with this product!!

e.l.f. Studio Contouring Blush & Bronzing Powder - St. Lucia
I've heard/read many things about this blush/bronzer duo and how it's a dupe for NARS Orgasm/Laguna. I was curious to see.

E.l.f. blush/bronzer St. Lucia next to NARS Orgasm/Laguna.
e.l.f. St. Lucia blush, NARS Orgasm blush, e.l.f. St. Lucia Bronzer and NARS Laguna
All and all the packaging and the concepts are immensely similar but swatch wise, not at all, in my opinion. I do really enjoy St. Lucia, both the blush and bronzer.

e.l.f. Studio Makeup Mist & Set
I bought this not because I needed a setting spray (I love my Urban Decay De-slick) but rather I wanted a spray to use through out the day as a refresher. I wanted something I could toss in my purse. So far, so good! Very cooling and doesn't really have a scent that I can smell.

e.l.f. Mineral Eyeshadow Primer
Swatch of e.l.f. eyeshadow primer in sheer.
I've heard great things about this eye shadow primer. I don't wear eyeshadow much but I wanted to give it a try.

e.l.f. Studio Powder Brush, Flawless Concealer Brush, and Angled Contour Brush
e.l.f. Studio Powder Brush, Flawless Concealer Brush, and Angled Contour Brush

Last but not least, I couldn't resist getting some new brushes! e.l.f. brushes are very nice for the price. They do not last forever but for what you're paying they are amazing. I've been loving flat top brushes for foundation. I wanted to give e.l.f.'s a try to see how it would apply. I got the concealer brush because I wanted another concealer brush (haha). And for the angled contour brush, I have been using this to blend out my under eye concealer and have been loving it!

I've updated my blog some. I went with a move simple theme. Let me know if you like! Like a said in the beginning of this post, I'm experimenting  a little with backgrounds. Trying to find a style that works well for me. I like the idea but not really digging the background, so please bare with me. On my last photo, I had to change it up because the black brushes did not photo while on a black/white background (who would have thought?). Anyways, that is all for now! Thanks for looking/reading~
